About AirQual

Studies have shown that as many as 30 percent of new and remodeled buildings may suffer from "Sick Building Syndrome." In other words, millions of people are at risk for health problems due to poor Indoor Environmental Quality caused by chemical and biological contaminants. That’s why we have devoted our efforts to providing safe, effective, EPA registered technology to help combat the rapidly rising problems associated bacterial contamination.

Antimicrobial Products
|
ACT is the first suite of the products being offered to consumers as well as manufacturers by AirQual. These products were developed by Dupont and sold to AirQual along with patents and EPA registrations. These inorganic silver based powders are proven safe and effective in a wide variety of applications. The slow release technology provides lasting protection against the challenges of both bacterial and fungal growths. Because they are owned by AirQual, they enjoy a very attractive cost advantage over competitive foreign manufactured silver based products.

Management and Organization

Jack Desmond, Tom Magauran and Jack Probolus formed AirQual as an independent company. Jack Desmond is Chairman of AirQual as well as Chairman and CEO of the Cox Engineering Company. Jack has a national reputation as a visionary in the HVAC industry and has been pioneering efforts in IEQ for over 12 years. Tom Magauran, having joined AirQual as President & CEO in October 2003, brings extensive experience in rapid growth new venture opportunities.
The team has extensive knowledge and industry experience in addition to a strong network of key industry relationships. Their relevant industry backgrounds include construction, manufacturing, finance, insurance, health care and information technology. All have participated in successful new company formations.

Jack Desmond, Chairman
|
Jack Desmond, Chairman is also the Chairman and CEO of the Cox Companies.
Jack has over 30 years of successful and professional management experience
within the HVAC/R industry. He is nationally recognized as a leader and
innovator and continues to be involved at the highest levels within the
industry’s key professional organizations. He has uniquely served as an
effective bridge in executive positions within both union and non-union
professional associations. Currently, Jack serves a member of the board of
Lawrence Academy and is a graduate of Colby College. He also is on the board
of SMACNA, where he served as President in 2003.

Tom Magauran, President and CEO
|
Tom Magauran, President & Chief Executive Officer, brings over 18 years of
professional management experience in all aspects of rapid-growth company
operations including Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Mergers &
Acquisitions, and Capital Development to AirQual. Most recently Tom founded
and served as Managing Director of Angel Group Ltd., a regional capital
development consulting firm. In addition he has held senior positions in
numerous successful high-growth firms such as i2 Technologies and CommerceQuest.
As CEO and President, Tom is responsible for all aspects of market development,
capital development and company operations. Tom holds a Physics degree from Holy
Cross College, serves on a number of local government boards and committees, is
actively involved in regional economic development and is a cofounder of a local
citizens’ action group, Citizens for Responsible Growth.

Jack Probolus, Senior Vice-President
|
Jack Probolus, Senior Vice-President brings over 25 years of risk management
experience as a senior executive in the insurance brokerage industry across a
broad range of industries with particular specialization in hospitality and
healthcare. He served as the senior managing director for Omni Hotels,
instituting risk control and property conversion programs for both owned and
managed properties. Mr. Probolus speaks nationally regarding various issues
involving new product introduction, technology in a changing marketplace, and
regulatory approval processes. In addition, he serves on the ANSI Z9.8
subcommittee: charged with drafting a proposed new standard for the fundamentals
Governing the Operation and Maintenance of HVAC Systems for Maintaining
Acceptable Indoor Air Quality in Employee Occupancies through dilution
ventilation. While in the property and casualty insurance industry, Jack
represented clients from a variety of industries including Fortune 250 Financial
Institutions, Computer Manufacturers, Healthcare Institutions, and the leading
private University’s Management Company. Jack also represented retail operations
for a multibillion-dollar convenience and petroleum-distribution company as well
as one of the preeminent sporting brand companies in the world. He holds an MBA
from Babson College, and has led several local civic projects in helping to fund
and construct youth activity centers as well as leading and coaching youth sports
activities.

has over 25 years of general management experience within the HVAC/R industry.
He is active and highly regarded in both local and national professional
organizations. Jeff is currently President of Cox Engineering.

David Smith
has over 25 years of executive experience in finance and general management with
large and small companies including Norton Company and Elcam, Inc. David is
currently President of Cambridgeport Air Systems and CFO of the Cox Companies.
